Local politician Marty Hunt has announced a funding commitment to create safe pedestrian access over the James Low Bridge, Yandina.
The Member for Nicklin said he has secured an LNP commitment of $50,000 for planning in relation to possible pedestrian access over the bridge at the southern access point to the town.
“This is an election commitment and will obviously be dependent on who secures government,” Marty said.
“But whatever happens I will continue to fight for improved pedestrian and cycle access into Yandina as the population increases.”
He said state government must take into account the need for adequate infrastructure to support any developments as part of the Regional Planning process.
“The state (Regional) Plan is up for review in 2022, so that process will commence soon. I intend to represent my communities strongly in that process, to preserve our communities and build the infrastructure we need into the future to support them,” Marty said.
