YADCA and other community groups met recently with the Sunshine Coast Mayor and Councillor Greg Rogerson to discuss local issues and concerns.
The Yandina Chamber of Commerce, local historian Audienne Blyth, Reverend David Tidey plus other councillors all attended the morning tea, held at the Yandina Hotel on Wednesday 23 October.
YADCA was represented by our President Nigel Anns, Secretary Kahren Wentworth, Vice-President Marie Reeve and Treasurer Ian Jeisman.
“The event provided a valuable opportunity to gain information, make recommendations and exchange views,” Nigel said. “We were all invited to describe the role and priorities of our organisation; and to outline the challenges and opportunities – as we see them – for our local community.”
The new President of the Yandina Chamber of Commerce, John O’Leary, and Vice President Bill Gissane, also attended.
Mayor Mark Jamieson appreciated the opportunity to meet community leaders. “Talking face to face and appreciating community sentiment is valuable for all elected members,” he said.
