DESCRIPTION:The July YADCA Forum will be held on Monday July 13 at Connections\, 29 Low Street Yandina\, starting at 7.00 pm. \nGuest speakers\nThe focus of the forum will be a discussion with Cr David Law and feedback from Marty Hunt MP  on PLANNING & THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDING. Yandina is growing but infrastructure is struggling to keep pace. We question how decisions are made and what needs to happen to ensure adequate infrastructure is factored into governments’ funding plans. Examples for consideration are: \n\nPedestrian access over the South Maroochy River\nActive Transport upgrades\nBetter Public Transport\nAccess to the Olympic Mountain Bike Facility on Yandina – Bli Bli Rd\n\nWe also seek clarification on what criteria is used to prioritise maintenance and upgrade requests across the Shire. e.g. road re-seals and park upgrades. \nCurrent Development Applications will be discussed. My thanks go to Ian who has been researching what has happened with development applications over the past 2 months. His notes are here. DESCRIPTION:The August YADCA Forum will be held on Monday August 10 at Connections Hall\, 29 Low Street Yandina\, starting at 7.00 pm. \nGuest speaker\nWe have a guest from Council’s Strategic Planning Team\, speaking about future plans for Yandina and the Maroochy River Valley. \nWe have asked: \n\nFor an update on the Draft Planning Scheme and Shaping SEQ 2023.\nHow the pressure of gentle densification and urban expansion can be mitigated.\nIf / how new infrastructure to accompany growth can be ensured.\nFor the time frame and Structure Plan ideas for the SEQ Development Area between Brandons Road and Lees Road.\nIf consideration has been given to the location of industrial scale\, greenhouse farming in our area and the desirability of covering good quality agricultural land with concrete and glass and the potential impact on Council’s internationally recognised dark sky reserve.
