YADCA Forum Monday October 13 2025 7pm.

Our next forum is on Monday, 13th October at 7.00 pm at Baptist Church, Connections, 29 Low Street Yandina. Cr Law is able to attend. We have an apology from MP Marty Hunt.

Topics will include:

1. Yandina’s heritage and SCRC’s Proposed Planning Scheme

• Yandina’s heritage bridges
  American Pruss truss rail bridge (c,1913) & Chambers Crossing bridge (Old Rattley 1930s). (See details here.)
• Proposed Planning Scheme
  Omissions in App 3.10A Yandina – local heritage places, and the Heritage and Character Area Overlay Map:-
  – Chambers Crossing Bridge (Old Rattley) and George Best Park
  – Koongalba as a State Heritage Site and
  – the grounds surrounding Koongalba at 12 Wharf Street as “Land in Proximity to a Heritage Site”.
  Request
  – Omissions be amended.
  – The gate keepers cottage in Tea Tree Park be heritage listed.,
  – Koongalba grounds be classified as an Environmental Management and Conservation Zone rather than a Low Density Residential Zone.
  – The Yandina Character Area be extended along Farrell Street to include buildings and vegetation which are important contributors to the character of historic Yandina.

2. The Draft Active Transport Plan which will inform funding for the next 10 years. Have your Say.

Membership

This is a reminder: YADCA gives members 2 months to renew their annual membership. If you have not renewed your membership by the December forum we will reluctantly remove you from our mailing list. Of course you will always be welcome to attend as a non member without voting rights.
