Local Member, Robert Skelton, is “backing residents all the way” in the fight against a service station proposed for the heart of Yandina.

The Member for Nicklin expressed his support in today’s Sunshine Coast Daily where the full story is available online to subscribers.

The paper reported that Mr Skelton believes the proposed development is “not the right fit for Yandina”; and he has written to the Deputy Premier Steven Miles, Transport Minister Mark Bailey and Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Mark Jamieson expressing his views.

YADCA, the Yandina School of Arts and Business Yandina (formerly Yandina Chamber of Commerce) are all opposed to a service station in its proposed location.

A service station does not belong in the heart of our heritage town and it would greatly increase traffic congestion on an already busy corner.
