Baptist pastor Dave Tidey and wife Janelle are leaving Yandina for a new role within the Church. In 2022 Dave will be taking up a position at the Queensland Conference and Camping Centre in Brookfield. We wish them all the best in their new endeavours.
In the past 12 years Dave has contributed in many ways to the Yandina community. He was president of the Yandina Chamber of Commerce and chaired the Yandina Street Fair Committee for many years. In addition to managing Yandina’s long running Street Fair he and the Baptist Church congregation hosted the popular Christmas Carols at the Yandina Historic House. He facilitated better communication between the community and the many diverse interest and sporting groups in our town.
Dave has worked collaboratively with the Yandina and District Community Association (YADCA) advocating for issues that improve the quality of life for residents such as better pedestrian and road safety measures, the beautification of the town centre and the preservation of Yandina’s heritage.
Janelle has maintained a low community profile but took the reins when the need arose.
YADCA thanks them both for their contribution to our town and wishes them well in the future.
